A message from Oquossoc ATV Club President Wesley Jackson

Memorial Day Weekend was set as the opening of the Oquossoc ATV Club trails for the 2025 season. Saturday, May 24th was a work day. We held our Annual Roadside Cleanup and installed last minute trail signs.

Long before opening day, a lot of behind the scenes hours went into planning events, projects for trail maintenance, and securing financing for the work to be done over the summer months. Our Trailmaster was very busy putting the projects together and lining up contractors to do the work. We rehabilitated nearly 6 miles of trail by replacing water bars with box culverts, and improving drainage to protect the trails and the environment from future weather events.

In addition to the trail work mentioned above, a big shout out goes to High Peaks Alliance and Wagner Forest Management! In a collaborative effort with the Oquossoc ATV Club, we were able to reopen the Bemis Track. The heavy rains in December of 2023 and January of 2024 ravaged trail systems all over the area, washing out major sections of the Bemis trail and closing it to all vehicles, the project was completed in early September.

Another major project completed in 2025 was the replacement of the Orbeton Stream bridge with a completely new structure. Thank you to everyone that made this project possible with collaboration from the Landowner, Department of Conservation, local snowmobile clubs, ATV clubs, and contractors.

The Oquossoc ATV Club 6th Annual Gift Drive to benefit Rangeley area families was kicked off in October with a club ride to Quill Hill. Thank you to everyone that made this another successful year and we look forward to collaborating with everyone again in 2026.

The Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner was held in October at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Main Street, Rangeley. The results for the election of Officers for the 2026 season are as follows;

Wesley Jackson - President

Ray Boyle - Vice President

Jeff Beaudoin - Secretary

Sue Beaudoin – Treasurer

For the first time ever, the Oquossoc ATV Club participated in the Trunk or Treat that was held at the Town Park in Rangeley. This was a fun time for everyone!

I want to thank all of our members and our business members that make this all possible. We are always interested to hear from our membership to help keep things fresh and to gain participation at our events. As with most clubs, we need members to step up and help out with trail projects and events. It takes a team to get the work done. If you have some time available, you can contact us on our website or email us at oquossocatv@gmail.com. Be on the lookout for 2026 membership information planned to be out in March and stay updated on club news and information.

Thank You,

Wesley Jackson

President, Oquossoc ATV Club
